Keeping Your BAC Down
Being arrested for DWI is not an outcome that anybody wants. In order to avoid that outcome, the best thing to do is not drink and drive. When you drink, your ability to drive becomes impaired immediately. The chances of an accident increase significantly after only one drink.
If you do not drink and drive, your chances of being involved in a traffic accident are significantly reduced. On top of that, you will not be arrested for DWI if you are not drinking. However, if you are drinking, there are certain things that you should always be mindful of.
There are a lot of different things that contribute to your inebriation. For instance, the amount of food you eat and the type of food. If you eat a large meal that is high in fat about an hour before you start drinking, your body will absorb the alcohol slower than it normally would. This keeps your BAC down a little bit.
The average person can eliminate one drink per hour from their system. This means that if you space out your drinks to one per hour, your BAC will be significantly lower than it would be drinking several drinks every hour.
It is also important to know your own limitations. Everybody is different. You may be able to drink more or less than someone else before becoming drunk. Knowing your body is one of the best ways to keep tabs on your drinking.
